| The Divemaster Course is the first step to become a dive professional. You learn to assist in the training of divers and how to conduct dive operations. Divemasters are invaluable in guiding divers, determining if dive sites are safe and overseeing dive operations. Meet and dive with interesting people from all over the world and all walks of life. Must be a Rescue Diver, 18 years or older and have 60 or more logged dives with experience in Underwater Navigation, Deep and Night diving. Must be current with First Aid/CPR and medical clearance to dive within the past 12 months. The Divemaster course has the following aims: 1. To develop the knowledge, attitudes, judgement and skills for supervising certified divers in shore-based and boat-based diving activities. 2. To develop the knowledge, attitudes, judgement and skills for assisting with training divers. 3. To develop the knowledge, attitudes, judgement and skills for independently conducting specific programs for certified and non-divers. 4. To develop the candidate's dive theory knowledge, water skills, rescue skills, and experience to a professional level. 5. To promote each candidate's growth to meet individual needs and interests, and to meet the dive community's needs and expectations in dive leaders. The course fee is $750.
